Bombs Away brand identity

Bombs Away Digital Exhibition

Creating a dynamic online exhibition for the Peace Museum during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Client

The Peace Museum is the only museum of its kind in the UK with a unique collection that tells the stories of peacemakers locally, nationally and internationally.

Requirements

To commemorate VE Day (8th May 2021), The Peace Museum wanted to commission an online exhibition while the museum was closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The multimedia exhibition included videos from experts and museum staff about the significance of aerial bombing and the role it has played throughout global conflicts in the 20th Century and beyond.

The exhibition would also act as a learning resource, engaging with local students through the work of Marianne Matusz – a community artist and participatory theatre practitioner based in Bradford.

Delivery

We chose to develop the exhibition on Webflow, making use of its integrated CMS and animation features, as well as it’s ease-of-use from a client perspective.

A range of collages were created for the exhibition, forming the basis of the animations, as well as being used for social media assets to promote the exhibition.

During the build, consideration was taken to ensure that accessibility guidelines were met, without sacrificing the motion and flair that brings the website to life. The site was also optimised for a wide range of devices.
