Design history workshops and poster designs for students of the HSD Typography class of Peter Behrens School of Arts, Hochschule Düsseldorf

Client

The HSD Typography class of Peter Behrens School of Arts, Hochschule Düsseldorf had a visit to the UK as part of their Extramuros trip. As part of their visit, they came to the studio our archive and have a day of lectures, workshops and inspiration.

Requirements

Matt (Design Reviewed) were tasked with providing a day of inspiring workshops and lectures focused on his collected fragments of design history. A vast quantity of items were to be on display whilst devlivering an assignment for students.

Delivery

Utilising the extensive design history archive curated by Matt, our Creative Director, the class had the unique opportunity to explore and draw inspiration from over 5,000 significant artifacts. As part of the workshop, students were tasked with searching these archives to find specific letters of the alphabet, immersing themselves in the rich history and significance of design. Following this, Matt recreated the lettering and designed a personalized modern poster for each student, which they could then print, merging historical inspiration with contemporary design.
