Foundations

Web design and website development for Foundations, furthering their mission to use high quality evidence to improve the lives of vulnerable children

Client

Foundations is a newly formed organisation from a merger between the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) and What Works Children’s Social Care (WWCSC). These organisations, with a shared mission to use high quality evidence to improve the lives of vulnerable children. The new website will help to build the reputation of Foundations, highlighting evidence, opportunities for funding and partnerships, and support work to convince key decision and policy makers to back evidence-based approaches.

Requirements

Key requirements included building a flexible and robust CMS that is easy to use and allows Foundations to have control over page creation, layouts and core functions of pages without developer intervention. The site also needed to showcase the new brand identity, be fully accessible and have an intuitive navigation system to allow users to quickly access the information they need.

Delivery

We have worked successfully with the small team at Foundations to meet all project deadliness and deliver a website that delivers a robust solution for the current and future needs of the charity. This has included integrating their recently developed brand identity and working with Foundations to develop a plan for consolidating a huge bank of content into a user-friendly interface.

  • Set up of a flexible and robust CMS that is easy to use and allows us to have control over page creation, layouts and core functions of  pages without developer intervention.
  • Application of new brand identity
  • Taxonomy to visually differentiate between types of reports/research and themes.
  • Website set up to maximise SEO value, especially with research being found and digested by Google Scholar
  • Integrated search and filter to segment or easily filter results by content tag (eg. Domestic abuse, reducing parental conflict etc.) and content type (report, blog, project etc.).
