Taste brand identity

Taste & Harrogate Beer Week

An exciting brand for a series of food & drink led events and campaigns

Client

Raucous was established in 2020 by Rachel Auty, a consultant and engagement strategist specialising in marketing, social, PR and events within beer, the arts, festivals, and places. Taste was launched as a sub-brand of Raucous, as a versatile brand that encompasses a range of food and drink themed events and festivals including Harrogate Beer Week.

Requirements

The TASTE Food & Drink Weekenders are designed to help bring our town centres back to life, and to boost our wonderful independent food & drink businesses. A bold branded campaign will be launched to initially promote the town centre food and drink offer in Harrogate and Knaresborough. We were appointed to create a bold, modern brand that would represent TASTE and associated events including Harrogate Beer Week and Harrogate Food & Drink Festival.

Delivery

We developed two brand concepts both centred around bold illustrative elements. We wanted to develop illustrations that would be quick to produce and instantly recognisable, which would allow us to develop and shape the brand to fit various events and projects. The preferred concept focused around hand drawn assets with food and drink items and a series of characters. The illustrations were designed to be playful with a handmade feel to reflect the DIY street food culture that the brand represents. Coupled with a bold, chunky font and a palette of pastel shades, the brand aims to appeal to an audience of beer enthusiasts and foodies.
