Leeds Trinity University

Reactive, reliable design support for a major UK university including two new sub-brands and ongoing campaign work.

Project Details

Client: Leeds Trinity University

Services: Branding, Campaign Design, Design Support, Environmental Design

Year: 2026 — ongoing

Leeds Trinity University came to us needing a design partner who could step in fast and work fluently within an existing brand system. Since taking on that role, we’ve delivered everything from exhibition banners and corporate reports to graduation programmes and campaign assets, as well as developing two brand-new sub-brands from scratch, all while staying true to the University’s established guidelines.

Stepping in when it mattered

We were brought in on a recommendation at a point when Leeds Trinity’s in-house design capacity was stretched and a run of projects needed a safe pair of hands. The University’s marketing team needed us to work within the existing brand and available to be on call whenever a need came up, not just for one project, but as an ongoing part of how they get design done.

That reactive way of working has defined the relationship ever since. A request for postgraduate exhibition banners turned into concepts the very next day. A corporate report needing a full redesign was scoped, quoted and scheduled within a single email thread. Large-format entrance banners for the Horsforth campus atrium were turned around against tight physical install deadlines. Whatever the format, the ask has been the same, quick, reliable, and right the first time.

A trusted, on-call design resource, reactive, reliable and fluent in the brand.”

Building two new identities within one brand system

On two occasions that reactive relationship grew into something bigger: developing a brand-new sub-brand, from the ground up, without stepping outside Leeds Trinity’s established identity. For the University’s 60th Anniversary, we built a full campaign brand complete with guidelines, banners, digital screens and reception branding, designed to sit alongside the core LTU brand rather than replace it. That meant close collaboration with the University’s own in-house design team on the details that matter for a large institution: typeface licensing across staff systems, accessible colour contrast on campaign gold tones, and clear rules for when and where a campaign mark can be used.

The same approach shaped our redesign of the Leeds Trinity Education Network (LTEN) brand ahead of its relaunch, refreshing outdated assets into a design that felt current, distinct, and still unmistakably part of the Leeds Trinity family. In both cases, the brief was less about starting with a blank page than about knowing exactly how far a sub-brand can flex before it stops feeling like the parent institution.
