Most of our health sector work has grown from long-term relationships with NHS research institutes and applied research bodies based in Bradford. These are organisations where the digital presence has to work hard, communicating complex research clearly to multiple audiences, meeting strict accessibility and governance requirements, and serving as a trusted public resource over many years.
We have been working with Bradford’s health research community since 2020 and currently build, host and manage more than 15 sites across the sector. We understand how these organisations work, how they are funded, and what they need from their digital presence.
Challenges we understand
Clear messaging for multiple audiences
Whether it’s a website, a research report or a set of public-facing materials, the same piece of work often has to serve very different readers at once: clinicians and academics looking for data and methodology, participants wanting to understand what they’ve contributed to, funders and policymakers assessing impact, and members of the public with no prior context. Most organisations design for one of these groups well. We design for all of them at once.
Communicating complexity clearly
Research findings, study methodologies, clinical programmes and public health messages need to read clearly without being oversimplified. That’s true whether we’re building a website, writing a report or producing supporting content. It’s a specific discipline, and one we’ve developed through direct experience across the healthcare and research sector.
Working within your governance framework
Healthcare and research organisations operate under real regulatory and reputational constraints: NHS and NIHR requirements, brand guidelines, accessibility standards and internal approval processes. We build these into how we work as standard, across every format we produce, not just digital ones.
Sensitive data and confidentiality
Health research frequently involves sensitive personal and clinical data. We handle this in line with GDPR and the data protection standards the sector expects, so confidentiality is built into the process rather than bolted on afterwards.
Built for the long term
Health research programmes run for years or decades. The websites, reports and communications that support them need to stay reliable, current and maintainable over that time. We manage this work on an ongoing basis, not just build and hand over.
Who we work with
We have built and continue to manage sites for organisations within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and its research programmes, including Born in Bradford, one of the world’s largest longitudinal child health studies, the Bradford Institute for Health Research and the Improvement Academy. We also work with NIHR-funded bodies including ActEarly and the Applied Research Collaboration for Yorkshire and Humber.
