Tackle Prostate Cancer is the campaign name for the National Federation of Prostate Cancer Support Groups, representing 90 support groups and over 15,000 members across England and Wales. We won the brief to refresh their brand and rebuild their website in 2021 and five years on we remain their long-term design and digital partner.

A brand refresh, not a rebrand, done properly
Tackle came to us in 2021 wanting to modernise rather than reinvent. The brief was specific: keep the Tackle Prostate Cancer name and campaign identity, but refresh the brand essence with new fonts, colours and visual assets that would resonate more strongly with member groups and stakeholders. With a modest charity budget and no existing brand guidelines to work from, Tackle was open to our thinking on how the identity could evolve.
We ran a series of workshops with the Tackle team and their trustees, working through what wasn’t working with the existing brand and website and building a shared vision for what would replace it. The result was a bolder, friendlier typeface, a wider and more flexible colour palette, and a set of hand-drawn illustrated assets that gave the brand real warmth, fitting for an organisation built around patient-led peer support rather than clinical distance.
A bolder, friendlier brand, with warmth fitting for an organisation built around patient-led peer support.”
A website built around real member needs
Before any web design began, we carried out a full UX review of the existing site, including user surveys and detailed user journey profiles, to understand exactly where people were getting stuck. That research shaped a new, modular site structure designed to flex without compromising the experience for any of Tackle’s audiences: patients looking for support, families seeking information, and member groups managing their own local activity.
The finished site included a password-protected members portal, a forum, an interactive map to help people find their nearest support group, and a full library of downloadable resources. We supported Tackle through launch with a complete set of branded assets, user testing and SEO setup, and have continued to work with them on their wider marketing strategy in the years since.
Five years on, we remain Tackle’s ongoing design and digital partner. Along the way, we introduced Tackle to a marketing freelancer who has now worked with the organisation part-time for three years, a small example of the kind of relationship we try to build with every long-term client: genuinely invested in their success, not just delivering a project and moving on.
