We work with charities, cultural organisations, universities and public bodies as an extension of their teams, handling everything from day-to-day design needs to complex publication and exhibition projects. Some clients work with us on retainer.

Others come back project by project. Either way, we get to know your organisation, your brand, your audiences and your standards, and we deliver work that reflects all of them.

01 Our Approach

How we work

We work within your brand guidelines as standard. That means everything we produce is consistent, on-brand and ready to use.

Where you don’t have guidelines, or where existing guidelines need updating to cover new formats or use cases, we can help with that too. Our background in brand means we understand visual identity at a level most design-for-hire services don’t. We bring that understanding to every piece of work we produce.

We have deep experience across the sectors we work in. That means we understand the audiences you’re communicating with, the constraints you’re working under, and what good looks like in your world.

What we design

Publications and reports

We have designed more than 20 annual reports and publications for organisations across the third sector, cultural sector and public bodies. That includes everything from data-heavy impact reports to beautifully produced printed publications. We have a particular strength in infographics, diagrams and data visualisation, translating complex information into visuals that are clear and structured without losing accuracy or nuance.

Campaign and marketing design

From print and digital advertising to posters, social media assets and campaign graphics, we design the full range of marketing materials your organisation needs, always working within your brand guidelines and built around your campaign objectives.

Events and exhibitions

We have designed for events at every scale, from festival programmes and event posters through to speaker materials for Future of Food at COP30 in Brazil. For Bradford Live we designed a full suite of materials for their World Cup 2026 screenings, including digital screen animations, posters, social media assets and physical banners. We have also designed exhibition brands for the Science and Media Museum, delivering three exhibition identities with the full range of supporting materials across each.

Wayfinding and environmental design

Our work extends beyond the screen and the page. We have designed signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics for physical spaces  including Bradford Arts Centre and Bradford District Museums and Galleries. Our experience brings additional consideration for materials, scale, production and the way people move through a space – and how to ensure branding is applied consistently and correctly.

Day-to-day design support

For organisations with regular design needs such as social content, internal communications, presentations and templates we offer flexible ongoing support that means you always have a senior designer available without the cost of a full-time hire.

The Numbers

We design across formats and contexts, from annual reports to exhibitions to international events, building relationships that keep organisations coming back.

Working with the Out Of Place team on our Bradford Live World Cup screening campaign was brilliant from start to finish. They produced creative, eye-catching designs that really nailed the brief, bringing the campaign to life. Their ability to respond quickly and support us at short notice was invaluable, and they remained committed throughout, helping us successfully deliver this large and complex project. Thank you OOP, I hope to work with you again soon.
