The Bradford Way is a shared vision for Bradford’s cultural and creative sector, backed by a consortium of the city’s leading cultural organisations and Bradford Council. We designed the brand identity and website that would let a diverse consortium speak with one voice, then extended that identity into Connecting Culture, the annual conference bringing the sector together.

One identity for a consortium
The Bradford Way brought together some of Bradford’s biggest cultural organisations and the council around a shared vision for the sector’s future. That kind of coalition needed a brand that felt genuinely collective, not owned by any single partner, but able to represent all of them consistently across everything from reports to public-facing communications.
We designed the logo and icon set, then built out full brand guidelines covering lockups and usage tweaks agreed directly with the consortium, so that partner organisations could apply the identity consistently themselves. We followed the brand with a Squarespace website, working through homepage concepts with the consortium and coordinating closely with a freelance writer handling the copy, to give The Bradford Way a public home that matched the ambition of the strategy behind it.
Connecting Culture: giving the strategy an annual moment
A strategy document needed a moment where the sector could actually come together around it. Connecting Culture became that moment, an annual conference under The Bradford Way umbrella, bringing artists, freelancers, producers, funders and cultural leaders from across the city into one room.
We developed Connecting Culture as a distinct sub-brand, closely related to The Bradford Way identity but built to stand on its own as an event brand, with its own presence across conference materials and communications. The most recent edition drew around 200 attendees, a strong sign that the sector was showing up for the vision, not just reading about it.
