Distinct audience groups served by a single website
A site built to convert, not just communicate
Heart Research UK’s existing website had been built and maintained in-house over several years. It wasn’t optimised for mobile, navigation was poor, load times were slow and the donation journey was underperforming. They needed a new site that served their full range of audiences properly and worked harder as a fundraising tool.
Before we designed anything, we mapped the full range of people the site needed to serve. General public supporters, corporate partners, medical researchers, clinicians, patients, event participants, press. Seven distinct audience groups, each with different needs, different levels of familiarity with the charity, and different things they needed the site to do for them. Getting the information architecture right across all of them was the first significant challenge.
80% growth in users. 150% growth in conversions. In year one.”
Integration and ongoing partnership
We integrated Fundraise UP for donation processing, Beacon CRM for supporter data, Formstack for lead capture and enquiry management, and Shopify for their merchandise store, all within a single coherent WordPress build. Each integration was scoped and tested thoroughly before launch, and we produced training documentation so the Heart Research UK team could manage the site confidently from day one.
