Setting the Stage is a nine-month programme at the National Science and Media Museum, anchored by a headline exhibition that marks Eurovision’s 70th anniversary. We won the brief competitively for the exhibition identity, then were commissioned directly for the wider campaign, designing a brand flexible enough to carry a major exhibition and a full year of family events, careers days and live performance.

Seventy years of Eurovision, told through technology
Setting the Stage: 70 Years of the Eurovision Song Contest opened at the National Science and Media Museum in May 2026, marking the contest’s 70th anniversary. The exhibition explores the technological innovation behind the show, from early broadcast equipment to the cutting-edge production techniques behind today’s contest, with a museum objective of driving 70,000 visitors across the exhibition and its surrounding events programme.
We won the brief for the exhibition identity competitively in January 2026, against a tight turnaround and a clear brand mandate from the museum’s parent organisation, the Science Museum Group. The design needed to make the exhibition’s technological angle unmistakable while working across a genuinely wide range of formats: outdoor advertising, print, digital display, social media and a large-format external building banner, all developed alongside paid media agencies handling the wider campaign placement.
One brand, nine months, every audience
Following the success of the exhibition identity, the museum commissioned us directly to develop the wider Setting the Stage brand, carrying the programme through a nine-month calendar of events including the Big Eurovision Song Contest Family Party, Dame Shirley Bazzey’s Eurovision Extravaganza, monthly WonderTots sessions for under-fives, and a careers day for school-aged children exploring work in broadcasting and live events.
The brief called for a brand that felt connected to the Eurovision exhibition without being defined by it, since most of the programme needed to appeal to families and community audiences rather than Eurovision super-fans specifically. We developed the wider identity using the same pattern language and title treatment as the exhibition brand, shifted into a more vibrant, family-focused colour palette. We also built a set of customisable templates so the museum’s own communications team could promote individual events within the programme without needing to come back to us for every piece of content.
